Thank you for that. I don't know with fb. On the one hand I would really love to completely stay away, on the other hand it makes interaction so easy. Same with the question whether or not to share photos there. Idk I think that everything about it is anti-privacy conceptually, even if you are careful.

You're welcome, nemesister. :) I definitely agree that people need to be very careful using Facebook. I don't use it as much as I did in the past, and I've already used this scanner to fix my Facebook account. It's best not to use apps on Facebook, as they can lead to your private details being shown to people who you don't want to see it.

Facebook is a good way to keep in touch with people overseas and rsvp/learn about upcoming events. If you *do* use it, it's best to make your account private (with details only being shown to very close family and friends).

You're probably best off sticking livejournal, which I think protects privacy much better.

I would much prefer lj, but it doesn't help. People I know have fb, either I participate or not, I can't pull the entire network over here, alas. So more uncomfortably participating for now.

I'm careful with the privacy settings and apps, but fb still claims the copyright to everything you upload, so it's just icky all around.
