Date: 2011-06-09 09:09 am (UTC)Facebook is a good way to keep in touch with people overseas and rsvp/learn about upcoming events. If you *do* use it, it's best to make your account private (with details only being shown to very close family and friends).
You're probably best off sticking livejournal, which I think protects privacy much better.
