Stunning Belmore park, in Goulburn. New South Wales, Australia. I went to this park on Friday - I was able to stop by for a short time. 🙂❤️

Edited to add: This post is scheduled to appear on my livejournal blog on 15th November 2018.

As I’m planning to raise my own potted rose bush and care for more indoor plants, I’m just going to post this as a self reminder on gardening tips I’ve come across from gardening websites and YouTube videos that I like:

- using coffee grounds and Epsom salt to add nutrients to the soil and boost plant health

- using tea bags as fertiliser

- remembering to prune roses at least once a year (but not in winter) to ensure they stay healthy and live longer

- remembering not to prune roses in winter, as this could make the roses vulnerable and shorten their life span. Bring the rose tree inside during excessively cold or windy days and leave the tree near a window with sunlight

- rose trees can need at least 6 hours of sunlight daily to stay healthy during non winter months.

- change water in the vase daily and add flower food or sugar daily for cut flowers, to make sure the flowers stay healthy, look great and live longer. Flower food can be bought at your local florist store, garden nursery or general gardening store (for any Australians out there, this can include your local Bunnings store).

- Water the soil of a rose tree and not the leaves to avoid causing the rose tree to get diseases.

Be careful not to over water or under water a rose tree. Some types of roses will need more water and maintenance than other roses.

Feel free to share any more gardening tips. 🙂
