Today we remember the brave men and women who sacrificed and risked their lives on our behalf. ANZAC Day is observed by Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Tonga and Niuei. It's about more than the Gallipoli landing's anniversary in 1915. It is the day we remember all Australians who served and died in all wars, and peacekeeping. On ANZAC day, ceremonies are held in towns and cities across the nation to remember our veterans' sacrifices. In Canberra, the Memorial, in close cooperation with RSL ACT, hosts the Dawn Service and the National ANZAC Day Ceremony. The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commemorative Ceremony will be held after the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Aboriginal Memorial plaque on the side of Mount Ainslie. Many veterans' families are experiencing hard times since their spouse or parent has been injured or killed (during or after) their active service. You can donate to the VB Raise A Glass Appeal to help support our deceased veterans' families here:

Plus, nurturing children’s education by contributing towards school fees, books, uniforms, and recreational activities to aid their self development and confidence.
Legacy Australia Council, Chairman Legatee John Pepperdine said “It has long been a tradition for Australians to raise a glass to serving and ex-service men and women on ANZAC Day. This year we want Australians to take it one step further and think about those who have been left behind.
By donating to the VB Raise A Glass Appeal Australians will be providing vital funds, which will help the 100,000 widows, and 1,900 children and people with a disability throughout Australia that Legacy assists.”
