Hi all,
Amnesty international has informed me of the plight of Fathi el_Jahmi. 68-year-old Fathi el-Jahmi is a prisoner of conscience. He has been arrested and incarcerated in prison in 2004 after he publicly called for political democratic reforms in Libya. He suffers from diabetes, hypertension, and coronary heart disease. Recent reports show that his health has worsened and he is at risk of dying.
In the Country Report on Human Rights Practices, the U.S. Department of State discovered that Libya has imprisoned many people for taking part in peaceful political activities. Amnesty International believes that Fathi El-Jahmi is a prisoner of conscience. They believe he was detained for peacefully using his right to freedom of expression.

Thank you.
