Stop US anti choice bill SB182

Hey there,

peytonsrecords posted on ljcommunity advocates about how Senator Patrick's anti-choice bill SB182 (now in the US Senate State Affairs Committee) will require a doctor to force a pregnant woman or girl look at an ultrasound and hear the fetal heartbeat before she can receive abortion care - even if she refuses!

Why You Should Oppose This Bill:
- It humiliates women seeking abortion care, and does not look at the context of their different situations

- This bill is an example of legislation that is specifically about medical procedures. Legislation that is specifically about medical procedures is opposed by the "American Medical Association, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, American Medical Women's Association and the American Public Health Association" (Source: NARAL Pro Choice)

- South Carolina's Republican Attorney General declared a similar proposal "coercive" and "unconstitutional".
