What you can do: Help a woman who lost everything in a fire

www/@booksandcorsets lost everything in a fire. Her roommate probably lost everything too. Nobody was injured or hurt, but people need help to get back on their feet. She'll only have a place to stay for a week. After that, she's on her own. Please repost this or send some dollars her way, so she won't be left out on the streets. Thank you.

Today while she was at work, she got a call from her landlord saying that her house was on fire. By the time she got home, there was nothing left. Literally, nothing. Her beloved pet birds, her family heirlooms, her books and clothes and furniture and brand new iPad, all gone. ( Read more... )

She had tried to get renter's insurance and got stuck in the labyrinthine bureaucratic process, so she has pretty much no recourse except for those of us who care about her.
