Hello everyone,

Please read the mail below and consider signing the petition to free political prisoner Aung San Suu Kyi. Thank you.

Aung San Suu Kyi faces her oppressors this week on charges that could land her in jail for five years.

The trial comes just days before she was set to be released from house arrest.

Her life is on the line. Aung San Suu Kyi's health is at risk, and five years of torture and abuse at the infamous Insein prison1 could spell disaster.

Our rapid response to these developments started last week in Australia (a member of ASEAN) when the Amnesty section there mobilized and generated over 7,000 letters to ASEAN.2 Just a few hours ago, the chairman of ASEAN called on Myanmar to release Aung San Suu Kyi.

With the international pressure snowballing,3 it's time to focus on General Than Shwe, leader of the military junta.

Please write General Than Shwe and urge him to release Aung San Suu Kyi and then forward this email to your friends and networks.

We know influencing the general is an uphill battle, but you and I have faced these odds before. Last year, we sent tens of thousands of letters on behalf of Ma Khin Khin Leh, another prisoner of conscience in
Myanmar. Today, she is free.

Hi everyone,

Please read the post from the lj community advocates below and consider donating or spreading the word. Thank you. Please go to http://www.WeLoveEric.com for more infromation.

"Eric De La Cruz is 27 years old, and is in dire need of a heart transplant.

Eric has been turned down for a heart transplant list because he is on Medicaid, and there are no transplant facilities in Nevada.

Eric needs to go to California under the Medicare Disability program. He has been rejected twice, and the next appeal hearing is in one year.

Eric has Severe Dilated Cardiomyopathy with an EF of 15%. His kidneys are having trouble because of his heart. His creatinine levels are high, his blood pressure is very low and he keeps retaining fluid. The medications that his doctors have him on are no longer working. He is currently on 3 different IVs.

Projected costs of Eric's transplant are to exceed $150,000. As of this video's production, $4,000 has been raised. We have a long road ahead of us. Even if you can only spare a dollar or two, please donate.

If you can't donate, please help spread the word. Send this video to everyone you know. Thank You."

Hi all,

camdenwest posted in the lj community advocates about how she needs donations for speech therapy.

Her speech defect has caused hr to bcome severely depressed, and it isolates her from other people. Her speech impairment has had a terrible impact on her emotional health and her social life. She is worried she won't be able to get a good job to pay off her student loan debt, because employers will be put off by her speech impairment. Every single day, she puts up with people ignoring her when she speaks. People also treat her with disgust due to her speech impairment, something nobody should have to endure.

Health insurance will not cover speech therapy for camdenwest, even though I need it so bad--so as a last result, I am turning to the kindness of strangers. To donate or find out more, click here:
