Hayes Code and demonisation of lgbt people in film

It is Time to Improve Bisexual Representation in Storytelling — OnStage Blog

The Hayes Code is rules for filmmakers on how to portray lgbt people and harmfully portrayed lgbt people as dying violent deaths or as villains.

Portrayal of the harmful cheating bisexual stereotype and trope has existed in popular literary fiction such as Le Fanu's Carmilla and Stoker's Dracula (200 years ago), although this harmful trope became legal in Hollywood films in the 1930s onwards.

https://thegeekiary.com/bisexual-tropes-yeet-into-sun/70503

Harmful tropes listed and analysed in the article above:

- Bisexuality as a transition tool

- The trope of evil bisexuals

- The Bisexual-baiting, calling bisexual coded characters straight

- Tropes where bisexuals are portrayed as being unable to commit to a serious romantic relationship

- TV and movie actors not realising they're playing bisexual characters, and actors denying that a bisexual character is bisexual.
