Help out a 5 year old with cancer

Hello everyone,

pinkcherrylips has posted in advocates on her sick niece, who has severe and painful bone marrow cancer. Her niece is only 5 years old. She urgently needs a tumor to be extracted. However, Insurance won't cover her, as it's a 'pre-existing condition'. This is totally disgusting and wrong. Below is pinkcherrylips' post:

Hey there. So my poor lil 5 year old niece has a terrible form of bone marrow cancer and her parents are barely getting by on welfare and medicare. She very badly needs a tumor extracted and the insurance won't cover seeing as it's a "pre-existing condition".STOOPID! So, I am doing all I can to earn some $ to help out.

Please check out my stuff and if it's not quite your style, pass the link along to a friend- it might be just what they are looking for and might make a lil kidder's day! Thanks all! xoxo

If you're into cheap Disney stuff and have some money to spare, please consider heading over to http://myworld.ebay.com/theeclecticminx to buy it. If it's not your thing, please repost about this, so other people can help pinkcherrylips' niece out. Thank you so much!

Not to sound like a bitch, but that sounds a little fishy to me. It might vary from state to state, but a) most people on welfare are on medicaid rather than medicare, and medicaid doesn't discriminate against pre-existing conditions (which would be ridiculous, sinc e a bulk of people go on it for disability!) and b) even if they are on medicare I've NEVER heard of them not covering a pre-existing condition.

It's possible I'm wrong, or more likely that the story is true but a bit jumbled (maybe medicaid/care won't remove it because doctors have said it's inoperable or won't make a difference if they do), so I don't think it's bad to support this, just that I'd maybe want a little more information!
