This helpful website uses charts, simple grammar, and short paragraphs to teach beginners how to write music with popular chord progressions.

The most popular basic chord progression for piano is 1, 4, and 5 - I, IV and V - one, four and five.

That means you play the three note chord for the first, fourth and fifth notes of the heptatonic seven note scale. πŸ™‚πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

Other popular chord progressions are:

1, 3, 4, 5 - I, III, IV, V - one, three, four, five.

1, 6, 2, 5, 1 - I, VI, II, V, I - one, six, two, five, one.

1, 3, 6, 2, 5, 1 - I, III, VI, II, V, I - one, three, six, two, five, one.


Chord progressions can be used for writing and playing music in the major or natural minor seven note scales.
