Sorry, 'reach out' was a poor choice of words. I meant that Petunia seemed to be trying to be civil with Lily when she sent the vase. I'm not saying she was always nice to Lily. I know she was really awful to Lily in the past.

Also, I don't think a vase is anywhere as bad as 50p for a present.
